@PNS Once U normalize medically assisted suicide it is a slippery slope.Because it will suddenly become a way out. A whole nation can give up.This is another evil very well thought out plan.Problem is. Many can have periods where they wish to die. When everything seem hopeless. And that is why doctor provided suicide is not a good idea. Because most of the time we bounce back from those feelings.But once the doctors helped kill U, there are no bouncing back from that.

@EvolLoveI personally think that medically assisted suicide should be an option. Someone who wants to kill himself is going to kill himself anyway, and this is a lot less likely to be messy. Not to mention that there are people with medical reasons they may want to die, like permanent debilitating pain.BUT! I also think that the doctors and everyone involved should be discouraging it the entire way. It should be considered only as a last resort option and only if the patient brings it up first.@PNS

@PNS Oh no, I'm aware.The problem is that you have a lot of people that only need to attempt once.I think having it for those people as an option, but the process requiring them to convince several medical/psych professionals that it is really the only option, while those professionals try to deescalate the situation, may be helpful.And honestly, if you can convince people who are trained in telling you that maybe you shouldn't want to kill yourself that killing yourself is the only option... that's pretty impressive. From a non-suicide point of view, I've seen people with cancer die painfully, or strung out so bad on painkillers, that I'd suggest having a lethal injection to go out on their own terms at their request is humane. Doctors shouldn't be allowed bring it up as an option, it should only be even mentioned if the patient requests it. Having to do it should be considered a failure.But I don't think it should be eliminated as an option.@EvolLove
