       @Kyonko802 gen 3 is still good and there's a lot of good romhacks. As long as you're not looking at gamefreak there's actually a few good things you could play if you're interested. My personal favorite of the recent romhacks is Pokemon Unbound

       @Kyonko802 pokemon Fire Red has been hacked so much it has had an entire new system "recently" put into it and since then a ton of new good romhacks that feel like the old games have been made since gamefreak is so fucking incompetent and hates the IP and their fans.Radical Red is a Fire Red remake with a lot of the QoL stuff Unbound has, and Unbound is also a Fire Red hack used with the Liquid Crystal is a gen 3/4 feeling remake of Crystal. It's probably important to note that most story romhacks are extremely edgy and pretty fucking terrible.If you like mystery dungeon games the first two games are some of the best, with Explorers of Sky being my favorite game of all time.I am a giga pokemon sperg and I'll take the blood feud I have with gamefreak to my grave, but Unbound is the game that reminded me I loved the series. I just wanted an excuse to talk about the series and put good games out there :konata_yawn:

       @Kyonko802 Absolutely insane take here, but here's something to stew on. If game has any aspect that interests you at all, why not just give it a shot and decide for yourself if you actually hate it or not? So long as you aren't paying for it, it's not much wasted. Legends Arceus looks crusty sure, but it's a really damn good game, probably could fix any issues people would have with it by modding at this point (go on, catch an alpha Gardevoir).
