       @artificialmindWhy would you remove the old secret if you want to rotate it?I mean, your users must be able to see the history of secrets, so they can predict how long they can use your secret until you rotate again!

       @musicmatze i just tag the old versions and keep them in the repo. "master"'s history is then revised as if the new secret was the secret all along. the tagged branches with the old versions are then kept around for record keeping.

       @artificialmind Ah, nice! And you can even force-push that tags if you think you might have some benefit from removing the old secrets... because at some point they might not matter anymore, right?

       @musicmatze that's a great idea! so the tags are basically "last-week", "week-before-that", and "previous-month". so obv you need to force-push those as well, how would it work otherwise?
