Question for historians and builders: Do we know whether there was asbestos in the East Wing of the White House?

@AnnetteLicitra I am not an historian but used to remodel several properties each year. East Wing was first opened in 1902 and expanded in 1942. From those dates alone I would expect lead pipes, lead paint, cloth-wrapped wiring, and rock wool asbestos insulation. Might have horse hair and asbestos plaster work too. I thought it was remodeled around JFK, maybe some of the bad was cleaned out.

@djg @AnnetteLicitra I'm neither historian nor have I rebuilt properties, but Trump insisted that there be no EPA review of the soil following the Palisades fire. There were tons of carcinogens left, but he refused FEMA funds to pay for it.I wouldn't trust Trump or anyone he hires to clean out the bad.
