it's time for the first installment of the :siren_blue: PRIUS FUN LOTTERY :siren_blue: this works the exact same way the repair lottery did, but instead of voting for stuff to fix my car with you get to choose fun mods to bolt onto my car today's list is as follows:• SSC1 fog lights: Replace the LED bulb in Chinese housings with a pair of Diode Dynamics' finest lighting. Wider, better cutoff, and adds an amber DRL.• Amateur radio mobile unit: Does 144/220/440 with plenty of output on all three. Great for when I inevitably lose signal in the middle of nowhere, Florida• Metal skid plate and cat shield: Replace the plastic underbelly of the car with a couple nice sheets of aluminum and stainless steel. @Paultron I (fortunately) don't live near crackheads, our neighborhood has never seen a catalytic converter theftbut at the end of the day it's an old lifted Prius with OE cats so it'll always be a target

@Cocoa @Paultron mine doesnt have one at all. It fell off in Butler Pennsylvania along with the rest of the entire exhaust after pulling out of my friends driveway.

The old guys use the repeaters to talk about their shit is good actually, because they keep the repeaters funded and maintained and tested, and when things happen (power outages, bad storms, trees are down, someone needs help) the young guys that step up have a reliable regularly tested communication system.On my island here that has been the case several times, where cell service is already spotty as it is.

@TeaTootler I hold both licenses :)also it seems the majority of GMRS guys here also have ham licenses, it's just another tool on the belt
