       Is that all there is……People are afraid to die. People don’t want to die.So everything we do, is because we do not want to die.It is an instinct we are born with, they say.Why are we afraid to die……I think it is because we see dying, death…as pain and suffering.  All our lives are about avoiding, preventing pain and suffering.I think this was so, before “gods”.After “gods”, we were afraid to die for continued pain and suffering in an “Afterlife”.Where did these ideas come from?Somebody thought them up. And because humans did not know for certain…..those ideas stayed around.They got elaborated further and further.There are those who say it is more that we want peace and joy…..that everything we do is to get peace and joy.Why do we want peace and joy…..because the opposite is pain and suffering….and we do not want that.What about those who are ready to die….who want to die…..They are experiencing pain and suffering…and see no way out…..no way to stop it while they are still alive.Everything we build, construct, create…..I think is to avoid thinking about dying. Everything we do is to distract from thinking about dying.And it is not really “thinking” about dying…..It is about the “feelings”, the “emotions” we experience around dying. Our “emotions” are what differentiate us from the rest of organic life here.Our “emotions” are physical-chemical-electrical-biological.Animals have that. Those glandular excretions are what keep them from death…..though they are not “conscious” of that.Humans have that too. If you put your hand on a hot stove, your body immediately pulls it away before you have a chance to consciously make that choice. Most of us who drive have had that experience when a possible accident is imminent, and we experience everything going into slow motion,when our body simply takes over our responses. How many times do people nearly miss incredible damage or death, and call it a ”miracle”……The level of our “consciousness” is also what differentiates us from the rest of organic life. We are “self-aware” on a level other organic life is not.There is a great amount of research and study now, on what “consciousness” is. This does not go on in the rest of organic life here.Animals seem to operate primarily on an inborn “instinct”….and on some level of “learning” as well……but not to the extent of humans.Human “consciousness” is what creates theories of “gods”, and builds rituals around those theories called “religions”. No other organic life form does that.We do see what look like “rituals” other organic life performs, but this is around attracting mates, procreation and the care of the young.Again this seems to be inborn unconscious “instinct” rather than “conscious” learning or conscious choice.We do see “attachment” amongst animals. We have theories about that. One theory says that if you put the scent of an individual animal on another individual, or on an object, that attachment will happen….because instinct makes it recognize its own scent. Cats are comfortable in places where they pick up their own scent. In studies, the scent of one animal was placed on another, and the first animal will attach to the other.There are also instances of opposites, of predators and prey becoming companions with each other instead of meals.I have not seen that one explained, though I have seen a lot of examples in life.All our human lives seem to be built around avoiding death. We have gotten very elaborate in all our behavior to avoid, to prevent, to stave off death.Politics…..the worst of all our attempts to avoid death, which includes eliminating the very resources we have to have to stay alive…..a trump Fascist Regime right now, creating as much death as it can, that it thinks will assure the survival of its numbers, by reducing the numbers of all the rest here scrabbling for the few resources everyone needs to survive.There are other better ways to do that….that have already and repeatedly been proven…..and trump is erasing that history, so that you will think trump is the only possible way…..which is The REAL Dumbing Down of America.
