I think it’s more about the fact that he’s a real estate developer. The one thing that he actually knows is how to do a real estate project: he has actual experience, knows the process end to end. It’s probably very comforting for him to work on something where he’s not out of his depth. (for this reason the only thing I don’t worry about with this clown show is the white house construction)

HOWEVER.His buildings are the only projects he's ever made money on. They were kind of on time (as much as is expected in that field) and they are "not dysfunctional" I don't like his taste. The columns will be bigger and uglier, with the intent of being more imposing and feeling like, well, an investment bank. I like to think it's because this is where you come to give Trump money.The old building wasn't much but it wasn't a statement, either. They mostly built it to hide the bunker underneath. The only reason I'm running my mouth putting a little cold water on the notion that "tearing down the East Wing of the White House is architectural terrorism etc. etc." is because I sincerely think it could go one of many ways. And his "Trump Tower" was apparently looking pretty sad and "very 1980's" when The Apprentice producers bombed out with everyone they'd tried to get to do the show first and scraped the bottom with Trump. @futurebird @admin I never watched the show (of course, I've never watched *any* "Reality TV" show, so) but decided that I actually needed to make myself watch it to understand how he was presented, what the character was a lot of folks voted for, but..I can't find it streamable anywhere on any of the normal pirate sites, or find torrents. No copies of it to be found anywhere.Which is odd... any other show that's ever aired I can find and stream but not that one.

Maybe it could be a cylinder with a round top, but a geodesic dome would be fine too, because triangles.

It's great room was furnished with Stickley furniture, lots of it. Understated in its design and effortlessly looks right at home in a W.W. Durant building. trump's lobby lacks a cohesive design and is trying too hard

None of the furniture quite goes, and it’s all that special kind of bland you get from trying to copy something that a good designer did, without quite understanding why they chose any of the pieces. It’s a common look in generic corporate hotel lobbies, where a load of executives made A Contribution and the poor designer had to accommodate them, while also balancing taste against secure knowledge that everything would get ludicrous amounts of wear and so either needed to be very hard or easy (and cheap) to replace. All while trying to look luxurious.Real rich people either hire a decent designer and let them get on with it, or have a load of totally mismatched things that they either inherited, have some sentimental attachment to, or just happened to like and are sufficiently secure in their own taste that they aren’t bothered by the fact that it’s a mishmash of styles.
