@DEERBLOOD He scares me more than Malenia. Sekiro is really adamant about you actually mastering its mechanics to get better. You can’t just “get by” like you can in the souls games. I think it’s their hardest title.

@john_darksoul The only thing that makes me think it may NOT be the case is that I would think if it were we would learn something more of her motives, like, she led the apostasy because Mezmir was sealed in the land of shadow but we dont hear anything about them having any sort of relationship or acknowledgement of each other (as far as I know)

@DEERBLOOD My recommendation for this build is to definitely grab the golden vow spell (not the weapon art) and flame grant me strength (this buffs both physical and fire damage so it’s very good for GSG), shard of Alexander, fire scorpion charm, and probably the lord’s talisman to increase your buff uptime. Make sure to have the fire buff tear in your flask too.

@DEERBLOOD Both of them aren’t acknowledged in the main game at all really. But Melina’s relationship with Ranni makes more sense when you realize she was likely the one who told Ranni about the nature of the rune of death (how did Ranni even know her plan would work?) and also why she was entrusted to lead the tarnished to burn the Erdtree (she was likely the one who burnt it the first time with the blackflame). Not to mention the actual gloam eye she reveals in the madness ending lol. She just slots in to the role so well.

@DEERBLOOD Yea I guess even a secret item talking about would be better. I kind of think of her as this game’s nameless king. Someone who is supposed to be forgotten about and stricken from history. They also leave things like this open ended sometimes.The Sacred Oath spell in DS1/3 talks about an oath between 3 people. The prevailing theory is that these 3 were the Nameless King, Ornstein, and Ricard (some theories swap out NK for Havel which has some merit but I’m a little suspect). In DS1 Ricard is in Sen’s Fortress and behind him is a chest with a divine blessing. In DS3 those summoner dudes can summon Ricard but he’s summoned with no clothes on, assumed to be in a form of mockery. The theory is essentially that Ricard betrayed the oath to gain favor with the Anor Londo and was given the blessing in return. Beyond these context clues there’s absolutely nothing pointing to this story at all. I know it’s a small subplot, but From does do stuff like that.

@Paultron Yea I’ve heard it was different from the old ones when it released. I watched a bunch of playthroughs too and it just looks like it blends the awe inspiring cinematics with combat really well. It just looks like it’s cool to play.
