A President being able to ‘pardon’ people is just absurd. What’s the point of a justice system if a clown with a crown can make it undone Oh while I’m at it.. Shall we get rid of the ‘alone rules’ like kings, presidents, dictators etc? Look at history.. clearly it does not work

@stux problem is "does not work" is a matter of perspective, works too well for those in power :/

@stux Worst part though is that millions of US voters eat the rotten apple w/no questions asked.

@stux absolutely with you on this one, but as long as the 1% are in control it's not surprising :/

@stux the US presidency has been accumulating power since the 1970s, relative to the other branches of government. Now that the "president" has the supreme court and congress both utterly subservient to him, he is in fact a king in all but name. But parliamentary systems are not necc. better, look at Hungary - all you need is to get a dictator backed by a compliant legislature in power, once, and democracy fails.

@stux The pardon has been abused before, but never like this. If not abolished, it must be given guardrails. For a mob boss-style president, it is way too powerful. It makes a country deeply immoral that it be allowed.

@stux Unfortunately, 30% of Americans believe this Project 2025 system will work better for them. And they are better organized than their enemies. We need a new way.
