       @mediaarchaeologylab in middle school, a friend showed me IRC and was hanging out in the teen chat room. I distinctly remember someone emoting "/me sits on the couch next to (friends nickname)" and he was like "whoa" in real life.Another friend met his wife in Ultima Online after she joined our guild. I got scammed on ebay for a black dye tub and she mailed me a card with a printed screenshot of some of our shenanigains hanging out in game.
