when writing about mathematically esoteric concepts for workaday programmers interested in better understanding foundations of computing, there’s a tricky line to walk between “telling convenient but dangerous lies” and “failing to meet your audience where they’re starting from.”do you have examples of material (blog posts, course notes, video, toot threads, etc) that you think does a good job at this? let’s give some positive attention to people doing the work. self promotion encouraged!

(there is perhaps a separate question of whether that’s an audience worth appealing to: perhaps the sort of workaday programmer who would seek out this material is mainly interested in performing intellectual superiority to their peers and so unwilling to engage with the inherent discomfort of learning. but let’s be charitable for the sake of this post)

@chrisamaphone I recently compared Aesop Rock's No Regret with Eiffel 65's I'm Blue, to explain enthropy and compression to non-techy people using bitmaps to show how the human eye can detect the distribution of noise and pattern naturally.https://100r.co/site/permacomputing_101.html
