       I conceptually dislike people using LLMs for coding because I feel like if you need to use a fucking statistical model to generate code, you either need to rethink how your system is architected if you're writing that much boilerplate or use a language that doesn't have terrible abstractions that require writing a lot of boilerplate. however in the latter case that describes most popular languages, so it's sorta Hitlerite to use LLMs for programming but more as a symptom of the rotted state of the tech industry as a whole rather than a decision of the individual programmer... however choosing to "almost entirely" write a system using LLMs in a language like Common Lisp is unforgivable. if you're writing a ton of boilerplate in CL you either don't know how to use macros or are just an incompetent programmer

       @nyx honestly every time I hear about the 'use case' for code generated by LLM I'm just like 'wait, isn't there a tool for that already' with literally zero exceptionsLiterally it's like, people are using a chatbot to generate code but they could literally do it faster by just calling an existing function from the library of functions available. Even if you have to look up the function to call, it's still faster. And because it's getting called from an existing library, unless something is broken, it'll just work!
