@BrodieOnLinux dunno if playing with things and widening your own perspective is ever not worth.

@biglinter I think more people should, I've said before that I'd like to see more GNOME devs playing with KDE, more KDE devs playing with GNOME and trying to work out what the others do better or worse for your users and adapt your system accordingly. Not to become homogeneous but to learn from your peers and rivals

@BrodieOnLinux "it doesn't do anything weird" Meanwhile the game's audio is still playing when the game is not in focus. This has happened to me with plenty of games and I find it annoying and it was in the video as well and you said it was acting as expected.

@AsyncTheVoid I would expect this to happen, that's not weird

@BrodieOnLinux Well it doesn't consistently happen for every game for me, some games it happens and some games it doesn't. Feels like buggy behaviour, when I tab out of the game backgrounf music should not stay playing (for basically indefinitely) until I close the game or tab back in.It makes some sense if the game is still visible on screen or on the same workspace.

@AsyncTheVoid Any inconsistency is on the game, it's up to the game to decide if it wants to play audio when it's not in focus

@BrodieOnLinux ok yea, that's completely fair, clearly at least bugs in some games and isn't suppose to, gd with proton wayland has audio while not in focus, but when using x11 proton it doesn't do that, but yea it's completely dependent on: if the game wants to do that, is working or not, and runtime and setup breaking that. Yea doesn't seem to be anything specific to niri now that I think about it, so you're right in saying that it's working as intended (or at least parity with floating)

@BrodieOnLinux I'm back on KDE and super happy with it, but god was Niri so pleasant and useful. I really hope it becomes more integrated into the desktop paradigm as a standard means of using your computer. It really helps with productivity, especially on smaller screens.
