@futurebird Please also assume that the vote counting will be cheated by just enough to make the race look close, but still have the cheaters' preferred candidate win. So not only do you need to turn out for the vote, but also in such a way that the cheaters underestimated your support.These factors combine to this strategy:+ vote, no matter what+ lie to the pollsters

@futurebird Campaign managers will *always* say "it's too close to call". Because if they say anything else then the activists slacken off, either because they think it's in the bag or because they think it's a lost cause.

@futurebird Hard agree.In the UK, Brexit was touted as a foregone conclusion for remaining in the EU shortly before the (not legally binding) referendum. The proven lies about that failed court challenges. Anyway, it's very much in some people's interest to suggest you don't really have to bother voting.Vote.Vote as if your life depends on it.Because your life may well come to depend on it.

@futurebird Was it you or someone else on here who suggested to always assume your candidate is going to win by single digit percentages or less so you're not discouraged by thinking its a loss but also not thinking it's such a sure thing you don't have to bother

@futurebird all ruling class polling is marketing propaganda tbh. if you don't know what questions were asked, and to whom, then you can't properly evaluate what the resulting numbers even mean. they could even be totally made up. it's not an accident that the same people who can be paid to produce polls with desired results are also doing marketing surveys every single day.

@futurebird I've seen too many elections in which polls predict a landslide for one side, with the other side ultimately winning. NEVER trust polls. They only count if people polled vote. Always vote as if your vote is the one to tip the scale.
