@GOKUSHRM As long as the build server takes. If you don''t know how F-Droid works you should educate yourself before complaining: https://f-droid.org/en/docs/FAQ_-_App_Developers/#will-my-app-be-built-from-source @fdroidorg

@GOKUSHRM You are no developer but the way apps are bing built and published is explained there. The F-Droid build process takes anything from some hours up to a few days. This is how it has been for years. If the app source has not been availble before the the start of the current build cycle it has not been picked up. That's how F-Droid works. If you need updates right away and don't care about the apps being built by F-Droid use alternative repos (and you already do) or use other services such as #Obtainium and get your APKs directly from the devs. I do think that F-Droid needs a better info/FAQ page explaining some stuff about the build process for users. And how is this related to Signal/Molly? @fdroidorg

@GOKUSHRM But you use alternative F-Droid repos already and therefore trust other sources than F-Droid and Aurora. The apps from those repos do neither adhere to F-Droid's inclusion policy nor are they being built by them – it's pretty much like getting the APKs directly from the devs (via GitHub, GitLab, Codeberg, whatever).Signal has been working again for hours now. Molly is just an alternative to the Signal client, nothing they can do to fix Signal server issues. @fdroidorg

@GOKUSHRM You obviously do not appear to know how F-Droid works. It's not that hard to understand though if you are familiar with any Linux distribution:F-Droid comes with a default repository, the official F-Droid repository which you can browse on the F-Droid website: https://f-droid.org/The apps available on the official F-Droid server are being built by the F-Droid (build) server. More info here: https://gitlab.com/fdroid/wiki/-/wikis/FAQF-Droid allows you to use the the app (the F-Droid client) to add additional 3rd party repositories so you can install and update additional software/apps via the F-Droid. It is up to you if you want to use F-Droid to do manage apps not being built by F-Droid. It's the very same on Linux: If I use Debian it comes with Debians own set of official repsoitories where I can install packages from. If I need to install software that is not included among the packages provided by Debian I can add another repository by the software's developer or a third party providing working packages for Debian.Molly is not available via the official F-Droid repo. F-Droid has nothing to do with providing updates for that. And there are plenty of other ways to obtain updates for Molly: https://molly.im/get.html@fdroidorg

@cryptgoat @fdroidorg 😂I never used any Linux distro. I don't even use MS or any pc/laptop... From last 20 years I'm doing everything on my mobile... Text emails chats music word everything. I start using Foss apps from last 3 months because I'm fedup from Google or WhatsApp or other closed app.. I knoy about foss but f-droid is my 1st even foss app. Thn I found aurora as replacement of play store.. Zero code knowledge but can tell how an app should work. (UI/features. What's usefull what's not

@GOKUSHRM "Too long; didn't read" explanation:The F-Droid client/app on your phone: You can do whatever you want with that, such as deactivating the official F-Droid repository and adding new software repos which are not endorsed or mainatined by F-Droid. That's part of the freedom coming with F-Droid.The F-Droid server builds all the apps included in the official F-Droid repo (activated by default in the F-Droid client) which must adhere to strict inclusion criteria: https://f-droid.org/docs/Inclusion_Policy/If you add 3rd party repos there is nothing F-Droid can do about that (and the software included there). That is entirely your personal responsibility.@fdroidorg

@GOKUSHRM Okay then. Still, F-Droid is very different from other app stores, things take time, builds do sometimes fail (your gotta wait for the next cycle to finish that is building the app another time). If updates land there later that's something that you have to live with. You can keep on eye on the build status of the F-Droid server with this website: https://fdroidstatus.org/buildsThere is also an app to watch the build process: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/de.storchp.fdroidbuildstatus/ Or you you choose to get your trusted FOSS apps directly from the source. 😉 @fdroidorg

@GOKUSHRM Where do you have that tracker info from? First time I hear about that. Edit: That's just a an open source library for crash reporting. You can enable/disable that in the F-Droid settings. Crash reports are never uploaed automatically. @fdroidorg

@GOKUSHRM That's exactly how it is in F-Droid. You chose to provide the crash log or not. A library popping up in Exodus doesn't mean it must be a bad thing... @fdroidorg

@GOKUSHRM Been there for years. 🙂 The link https://f-droid.org/en/packages/de.storchp.fdroidbuildstatus/ is just the website version of the F-Droid repo included in the app. You can browse and find all of the same apps from the F-Droid repo there. If the app is not on the website it's not being built by F-Droid. I@fdroidorg@floss.social
