       Maybe some KDE person knows the answer to this, why is that a lot of KDE tooling is given that K naming scheme, Konsole, Kate, etc.But then there are exceptions like Dolphin and the reason I was thinking about this Plasma

       @BrodieOnLinux AFAIU, the "K" is only allowed to replace "C", so maybe they couldn't find a state of matter that starts with "C", and had to settle for Plasma.Finding an aquatic mammal whose namestarts with "C" is pretty hard too :/

       @BrodieOnLinux Haha all good. I was being silly with that. I've wondered why the names have stuck around too. Going all the way back to what, late 90's/2ks? Gnome was about as bad as one point. But they've gone in the other extreme. With apps so bland and generic it's painful.

       @wolf480pl funny you should say this. The icon viewer used to be called Cuttlefish, not Kuttlefish even. @BrodieOnLinux

       @wolf480pl @BrodieOnLinux Also I guess kame (japanese for turtle) but well… french «came» means stuff/trinket but also is slang for drugs, and camé (so same pronunciation japanese) being a taking-drugs (as a verb) or a junkie (as a noun).

       @BrodieOnLinux At least with Kate it's an acronym. KDE Advanced Text Editor. And kdevlive, "KDE non-linear video editor"

       @acidiclight Kate makes sense but there's also a lot of other apps where there's just a K because there's a K

       @BrodieOnLinux It's actually Kdolphin but the K is silent. That other desktop can't hog all the linguistic novelty.

       @BrodieOnLinux it's simple, if the K works add it, if it doesn't..think of something else..
