Here is Microsoft's official stance on why they are STOPPING any method to bypass OFFLINE accounts in Windows OS. What a PoSAccording to Amanda Langowski, head of the Windows Insider Program, these bypasses “inadvertently skip critical setup screens,” which could cause misconfigured devices.Microsoft argues that the requirement ensures the proper configuration of essential features, such as OneDrive backup, Windows Hello, and updates.

@cryptoduke @Wtdrisco @BeardiculousI just checked the new big Win 11 update and every single thing it says it does or adds is something I'm never going to use. OneDrive, AI, new cloud backup, all sorts of crap including that spyware tool that takes snapshots of your desktop and now your file explorer so the AI can learn what you're doing.

@klaatu yawn. All of my images will be slipstreamed to remove the stuff I don't need.I just yesterday did a brand new install of Windows 11 on a laptop, which uses a local account, without ever logging in to a Microsoft accountmuch panic and hyperventilating about nothing.@cryptoduke @Wtdrisco @Beardiculous

@IceCubeSoup @cryptoduke @Wtdrisco @Beardiculous it's not about slipstreaming it out of initial installs. It's about Windows Update not caring what you eliminated from your install. It's going to load what it wants on there pre-opted in and not tell you about it as part of some next big shotgun style mass update. So by the time you find out it exists and you need to turn it off, it's already been running and doing the damage. Often below the application specific level as a new OS "feature".

@klaatu no, you can remove things entirely from the install media. they might push out new stuff during the next big feature update, but many of my installs don't last that long.my install images simply don't have Candy Crush Saga. And no it doesn't come back.I'm using the word "slipstreaming" loosely, because of decades of habit.@cryptoduke @Wtdrisco @Beardiculous

@IceCubeSoup @cryptoduke @Wtdrisco @Beardiculous right but it's not coming in as an app or a program you can isolate. They're weaving the changes directly into the operating system itself so I'm not sure if you can cut it out without breaking random aspects of the system. The overall goal is you're going to run a localized AI on your system that will spy on you and yet be queryable or periodically report results to Microsoft so they won't need a cloud of your files like Google to know you.

Corporate customers would never put up with this. And corporate market is the group for which Windows is designed.@cryptoduke @Wtdrisco @Beardiculous
