Back in the late 90s I did a work placement with "Loaded" magazine in London. The editor of the time had come from one of the big newspapers, and told me how all of the UK news industry knew about Prince Andrew's awful activities, had the smoking gun evidence, and that they couldn't publish because of massive threats over their heads. They all toed the line. I'm not one for conspiracy theories but it does seem the establishment wields enormous power when it wants to protect its own.

@essjax This struck me when I was reading about the 1984 UK Miner's strike. All Thatcher had to do was pick up the phone. MI5 and MI6 were in place, ready to go from day one. Banks and newspapers took a little bit longer but is was a matter of days not weeks. The machinery was all in place, all the time.
