       So I have this kid's board book Because I'm Your Dad from when my first (almost 7yo now) kid was born. It's one of the very first books I got.And today my 4yo is really into it after dinner and before bed. I have no idea why it got pulled from the book cases. But something is different. The "Dad" on the cover is all marked off and "mom" is written below it.Then my 6yo comes up to me and says, "Jojo - mom [I'm not "mom" so that context is something special and intentional from them] I changed the book. Because we don't have a dad, we have two moms. And I love that we have two moms, so I rewrote the book.Every single "dad" is crossed out, and not a single line, heavy scribble/scratching over. And "mom" is written next to each one. Except the last "dad" in the entire book. Because the last "dad" is in this line "because that's what my dad did for me" and would be referencing my, or my wife's, dad.My heart is just so full. My 6yo remembers that I used to be a "dad", they remember that I used to read this book and was the "dad" but they know I'm not a dad. And so they just up and fixed it.I'm so fucking emotional over this. This is so amazing.
