@TeaTootler @deprecated_ii both are forever chemicals with powerful C-Cl and C-F bonds are difficult to break apart in nature except in the upper atmosphere where they're subject to powerful radiation from the sun that is otherwise blocked the further down the atmosphere you go. at least these "forever chemicals" are light so they go into an environment where they break down unlike the other ones contaminating our water and soil these days.

@GrungeQueef @TeaTootler how did the refrigerants cause an ozone hole if they don't make it up high in the atmospherepropane is a great refrigerant and is extremely cheap. why aren't we using that?

@TeaTootler @deprecated_ii then again, because r12 has a lesser chance of creating leaks because it can operate at lower pressures that re less likely to blow gaskets and create pinhole leaks in tubing, it's the more environmentally friendly choice but greedy corporations wanted something that they could exclusively distribute at inflated prices via patent and nigger and dime people on constant refills because they knew the new shit would constantly be leaking since it operated under higher pressures. "muh enviromnment" is just bullshit backed by heavily manipulated junk science.

@TeaTootler @deprecated_ii The air conditioners today will only last at most 10 years with regular maintenance.

@GrungeQueef @TeaTootler propane was one of the first practical refrigerants and it was abandoned in consumer applications, probably because there's no way to achieve any kind of lock-in when any retard can go to the gas station and buy a 20 pound bottlenow it's being "rediscovered"
