We render our own from leaf fat from our own hogs. It's healthy and lasts forever. We make it and store it in Quart ball jars and when they cool, the lid seals itself.

"Vegetable oil" might as well be motor oil. I used to believe it was perfectly healthy, until I noticed that eating eggs fried in it (and maybe other things, I don't recall) made me feel bad. Then I looked into it. Bad stuff.

I use organic butter exclusively for frying and cooking.
