I used to think SNES was the best console of all time. Now I think Gameboy Advance is. Its like a SUPER Super Nintendo!

@IcyGrillz it is extremely difficult to pick a definitive 'best'. From the atari 2600 through the ps3/360 erawe were soooo spoiled. virtually every console was great.it really is splitting hairs.

@IcyGrillz my gut instinct is to say it’s the PS2 for home console and Nintendo DS Lite for handheld consoles. But that’s probably just because I spent the most time playing on those systems.

@IcyGrillz@noauthority.social Curious does the Gameboy Advance introduce scalable sprites in hardware like the Atari Lynx had? Am mostly an Atari Lynx fan but I did pick up some of the Nintendo stuff when it was $2-3 each at the swaps.I have a Nintendo Virtual Boy that I got when Walmart closed them out for $30 - that thing is fun fun!!!

@nom @IcyGrillz The SNES has scalable sprites and I'm pretty sure the GBA had the majority of SNES functionality. The GBA had fewer sound channels, so based on that I believe SNES is better. And now days SNES hardware can be just as portable.

@IcyGrillz I had already thought of it that way back when it was fresh and new. It really was an extremely tiny, power-sipping but powerful and significantly better SNES from all indications at the time (graphics, sound, etc.).I still preferred the Lynx for its hardware--I just wish it had more and better third party titles. The only downside of that hardware was the lower resolution for graphics, otherwise the 4096 colors, infinite spites of infinite sizes, sound hardware, etc. were A+!

@Dan_Ramos @IcyGrillz I really liked the Wii. Got a ton of use out of that thing. Last place suckage goes to Sega Dreamcast. Total disappointment.

@IcyGrillz all the Nintendo consoles of that era were stellar, as were most games. SNES, GBA, GameCube, DS, and Wii. Downhill after that.
