       Normalising having users being unable to patch their own apps isn't in fact normal. A threat model that considers the end user as hostile is broken.

       @never_released@mastodon.social They often say it is about "security" or "threat", but in fact what is happening is this is about control.They want to take control over your device so they can do things you don't want like enforce DRM or serve you ads.Downloading an executable without source code shouldn't be normalized. It's literally "just trust me bro".
