Government says "you must use our money".Government delegates control of said "money" to a coalition of private banks.Banks print as much money as they want and give it to themselves for free via the FED.Banks buy real assets with the free money, like houses, and force people to pay for it with (front-loaded) interest. You pay the banks with the "money" you got by trading your time, your literal life-force, but only after being taxed on income and purchase. This makes sense, right?

@eriner @DrFell I’ve got mp3 copies of a long extinct radio show that was produced anonymously called “The Wizards of Money.” I don’t think you can even find it on the Internet anymore; been thinking about posting one episode each week on the Fediverse.

@eriner It is the racket of rackets, the swindle of Swindles, and opposing it caused trouble to Charles Lindbergh Sr., his aviator son, and his kidnapped and murdered grandson. They knew some of the Euro "gang" from Sweden and WARNED the sheep. And paid the price. Among others (Congressman McFadden).

> Government says "you must use our money".Actually not. Legal tender laws are extremely narrow and in essence meaningless. If we wanted to trade in gold or crypto, there's really nothing that stops us because it's considered a barter. What makes people use the national currency, for the most part, is access to credit. Try to buy a house by borrowing gold...

That's a good point, but, if tomorrow the US government said you need to pay taxes in Euro (for example), I don't think that alone would be enough to make people switch away from the USD.The reason I say that is because while taxes are relevant, for most people they're small compared to mortgage and car loans, AND taxes are unpredictable - the number at the end of the year is going to be some % of your income and that could be denominated in dollars, or dogecoin.A loan payment on the other hand is a fixed number every month, and people will always prefer that their salary is set in the same unit as their loan payment (obviously). For businesses, the biggest cost is salaries, and when employees ask them to specify the salary in the same unit that they're easily able to borrow in, it creates a strong incentive for the company to price their products in that unit as well. But businesses also usually have a lot of debt in order to do CAPEX, so they also have a fixed monthly payment denominated in that unit.I live in France and the customers of my business pay USD, ask me how I know that multiple units of account suck :)So what I'm saying is, the REAL scam is this:1. You start with a bunch of hard money (e.g. gold)2. You print a currency and use your hard money to back-stop the value3. You offer everyone credit to buy houses with that currency, which they will because now they can buy a much larger house than they could otherwise4. But this drives the housing market to the moon because suddenly every dickhead who doesn't mind 30 years of indentured servitude has 1/2 million dollars to throw around4. You collect an interest payment off of everyone who doesn't want to be homelessLobbying the government to officiate your currency scam is really just for the optics.

> and give it to themselves for free via the FED.Oh it's very much not free lol, we're paying out the ass for that too. And then there's the inflation caused by it stealing more and more value from each dollar as a nice little extra bonus "fuck you".

@eriner If we built gallows in front of every bank and local government office, do you think they'd get the message? I personally think we'd need to use it a few times before they started to make changes. Even then they'd be changes to gallows building laws.Maybe half of them gone would make some changes positive for the people. They'd start to forget in a generation and have to be reminded again... We give an inch they charge us for a mile.

@thadius nah bro violence, or the threatening of violence, will never work.Even non-violence won't work if it's done by an individual state, or groups of states.Remember that time when a bunch of states wanted to peacefully leave and didn't "revolt", "coup", "go to war", or in any way try to inhibit other governments and then Lincoln came down with an army and slaughtered all of them?Jury nullification is the only viable solution to government tyranny. Even that only really buys time.

@eriner Just seems like a system filled with people who have done such messed up shit and screwed so much up they'll never give up because they know where they're going. These people hate humans and humanity.Seems like there needs to be a drastic reset that would only come with a massive uprising and total change to the system. No idea what it would be changed to, obviously... But not this. It's global this time too, which has never been seen before (to our recollection).
