Since this is getting some traction, I want to point out some other journalists on other networks, who fell into some common traps when engaging with Nazi disinformation. Here is exhibit 1: Margaret Brennan on CBSThe question she asked, and it's important to keep this in mind when you watch the clip, is "How does a mistake like this [firing CDC officials in charge of tracing measles and ebola outbreaks] happen?" NAZI: It didn't happen and also it was Chuck Schumer's fault that it happened because he caused the shutdown.BRENNAN: But it wasn't Schumer's fault. Trump gave the order. NAZI: No the shutdown was actually Schumer's fault because he controls everything and causes chaos.Can you see it? Can you see the trap? The trap was this: she tried to assert the truth about the topic that the Nazi wanted to talk about. That gave the Nazi a live, national platform from which to debate and spew antisemitic lies on the topic of his choosing. And suddenly we are no longer talking about "Trump's CDC Firing Mistake". We are now debating whether the government shutdown was caused by "chaotic" jews like Chuck Schumer.
