       @davidr @pietervdvn just out of curiosity: are there any known dangers for OSM users, because they map things and can be identified somehow by the locations where they map?I mean, when I support any public or non-profit project, my name can always appear somewhere, no?Why should it be hidden if I do something good?Just my two cents: I really take it as a motivational, praising or recognitional move.

       @davidr @mfuhrmann Well, quite some people did link their OSM and their Mastodon specifically to appear here.The problem with opt-in is that I'd also have to promote the bot and its posts would be quite barren and boring. If posting the pictures, the CC-By-Sa license also asks to write the username. Many people also really appreciate being mentioned here or asked how they can appear more; others appreciate the daily 'travel around the world' or got motivated by the bot to start mapping too
