@KingOfWhiteAmerica @Rasp Part of me agrees but a huge part of me knows this solution is just bugmen living. You own nothing and they expect you to be happy. You have to have subscriptions for everything and have no room to actually own shit. It is why I moved away from the big city life. It can be convenient but then you snap out of it and are like "what am I doing? What is my future going to be like?".

@SleepingKiwi @Rasp Right; and I live out in the hinterlands, and couldn’t even seriously imagine a way I’d raise my family in a major city, aside from pulling in at least seven figures annually. Cities my ancestors built are largely off-limits to people like my children.

The fact that we have not only diversity, but non-patrolled public transport is insane. At least in Montréal there were cops in the metro stations, but in the USA it is a free for all.

@KingOfWhiteAmerica @Eiswald @Rasp It is why I do my best to find jobs where I can work from home. The country sadly has to suffer a lot more for things to get better. Not that I wish it, I just see it more like a prescription. When you are sick, it isn't that you want to take medicine that might have side-effects, it is more that it is sometimes needed. A real cleansing has to happen for happier times to come IMO. Mild success in this country is punished severely, but if you make it big you can avoid every tax and find every loophole. When I say "success", I don't mean like "my family makes $200K a year" level success, I mean, "I just got over the poverty line" levels.
