So I have one bike, an electric assist bike, and as I've shared here, I'm saving up for a #Rivendell next spring (non-electric, regular bike).Hubby has teased me this is too many bikes, and I've said, "Dude, you have no idea how bike people get, be grateful I'm only thinking of two," and it led to us guesstimating how many people have more than one bike. I said over 30%, he thinks 1-2%.How many bikes do you have? Not in your household, but for you personally to ride/maintain?#BikeTooter

@hollie At the right geometry, any Miyata at or above model 300 would be nicer than any production (non-custom) Rivendell ever made. Same with a number of 1980s/very early 1990s steel Japanese bikes. Grant Petersen would not disagree. What size, and what kind of use case?

@hollie The nicest bike I ever had, until I broke the rear dropout after riding it for almost 9k hard miles fixed. The lightest jp Tange tubing available in 1981, massive tire clearance, recessed centerpulls. Front and rear fender braze-ons, rear rack braze-ons. A Miyata-build clone of the 1000 that Sheldon Brow liked so much. $80. https://rideitordie.blogspot.com/2013/03/gg-specialissima.html

@alrs That’s fair, but it’s more than just a good bike for me, I’ve loved these bikes since the 90’s. And I’m about to finish getting my bachelor’s degree, so saving up for this is kinda like making a second dream come true. :)

@hollie fair enough. If you have the space find some 80s bike to put a ulock on and feel no anxiety parking it outside a movie theater for 3 hours.
