@silverpill I found a bug in Mitra that causes third-party clients to be unable to reply to follower-only posts on remote instances, displaying the error “reply must have narrower visibility.”

@caohuak Replies to followers-only posts are supposed to have the "Conversation" visibility in Mitra. That means other person's followers, and "Followers" means your own followers, so when you reply with "Followers", it returns an error. What client do you use? I think some clients may already support all Mitra visibility scopes (@fedicat ?)

But if a person in Mastodon starts a conversation just for followers, Mitra comments for the Conversation followers (right?), than the new comment of that person arrives in Mitra as a DM and not followers or conversation followers.Maybe what a mastodoner see is a comment DM and not another type of comment and that is the reason why we see a DM type?Is that possible?

@elvecio Yes, when you reply to followers-only Mastodon post, they should see a DM. I assume the same thing happens on every other platform that copied Mastodon's behavior.@caohuak

@silverpill @fedicat Fedilab, Husky and pl-fe. I tested these client and none of them work by selecting followers-only visibility.

@caohuak @fedicat We could ask them to support the additional visibility scope, it's not difficult to implement.

@caohuak @fedicat However, federation with other platforms would still be an issuehttps://mitra.social/objects/0199c46c-669b-365b-6401-c154339308e4
