       Stayed at a place with a gas stove. Had forgotten how terrible the smell is. Stop living like primitives, people! At least they had a HEPA air filter in the next room (doesn't really help with the gas, but I appreciate the attention to other dimensions of my health anyway).

       Here "living like primitives" = "burning stuff indoors" but I'm eager to expand that to "burning stuff within urban areas"; years ago visiting someone in a wealthy suburb and their neighbor was burning wood debris as part of yard work convinced me that these people and their behaviors need to be expelled to the wildlands and/or their suburbs need to be rewilded/turned into wildlands.
