Either copyright is fake and we are all free to torrent everything freely, or OpenAI/Anthropic/XAI/etc. should simply be entirely destroyed by lawsuits and all their funds be used to compensate copyrights holders worldwide, together with massive amounts of money from each of Google, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon and many others.

@pettter We should do both; get rid of copyright for everyone, liquidate the big tech companies (not just AI) and use their money for useful stuff like space colonization and scientific research, and round up every non-janitor big tech employee (and significant shareholder) and condemn them to a life of forced labor in a gulag in northern Alaska

@scathach @pettter this might seem strange, but the big tech doesn’t have that much liquid cash compared to their valuation. If you nuke the copyright laws, it’ll all just go puff.Just like nuking zoning laws and build permits will massively devalue housing market and make housing cheap like in boomer times.

@pettter >we are all free to torrent everything freelyWe are. I’ve been doing this my entire life, having almost zero content bought.
