Something I think is WAY under-appreciated is the fact that internet is *violently* redirecting the course of human history away from what was pretty obviously going to be running off a cliff.In the 90s, we were doing all of the stupid shit we're doing now, but we were unaware of it. The fact that this is even recognized (by you) means it's already changing, because people are not going to knowingly and intentionally collapse. Because you, as a layman and not someone who works at the powerplant, don't really know what that button stops, or why that alarm is going off.Scenario: The alarm is going off because the plant has lost grid connectivity and it's in the process of switching to diesel generators to keep the coolant flowing so it won't meltdown. You pushed the button FOR THE GENERATORS.Now, morally and legally we do not hold someone to account for something that they don't do, unless it is in their area of their expertise and they are expected to do it. So the example would be if you work for the powerplant and you're on duty when it starts overheating and you don't push in the control rods.

@cjd @amerika @jae @Revertron if the danger is real people will want to take the vaccine themselves because they will see others dying all over the world in massive numbers.Countries have things like constitutions, human rights, etc. so that certain things cannot be violated no matter what.Also countries have things like states of emergency where their powers can be amplified up to a point.All of this things are already baked into our systems of government.The only problem from my point of view is that many people violated many laws and overstepped into places where they are not sovereign, they have no authority but they used illegitimate tactics to do this.For example in my case I was in the navy of my country, nobody can force me to take a vaccine no matter what, but they tried to make me take it by harassing me in indirect ways and publicly shaming me.We already have a great system, is just that it has to be enforced, and criminals need a boot on their neck.

@cjd @amerika @jae @Revertron I see where you are coming from with that but the nature of the physical world and the nature of the virtual world are very different. You can write perfect law in a virtual universe, you can't in the physical universe. The risks in the virtual universe can often be all or nothing, in the physical universe they are usually not all or nothing, etc.

I think also policy-makers need to understand that they are going to be put into situations where they are made to think that there is an imminent disaster and that drastic action is absolutely necessary right now, and what's really happening is someone is trying to trick them into doing something incredibly stupid and harmful. This is why laissez faire should be their primary go-to option.

They should be, but it seems they're not properly advising the presidents of various countries (or there's a lack of trust), because we keep seeing presidents make decisions that to the general public look like goofball decisions, and I'm pretty sure they are being manipulated by targeted disinformation.

@cjd @amerika @jae @Revertron I agree that the sheer amount of dis-info and just people saying things they dont understand and lying and conspiracies and bullshit is way too much for any brain to remain sane.I've personally have given up on trying to be right and at this point I only care about whether something is beneficial to me and those who are like me or not. That's the only way to avoid being a sucker.I used to have a mentality of learning languages, moving to other countries, trying new things, learning new things, approaching people of other races, etc.Now all I want is a peaceful life in a rural area and to be surrounded by people who look like me and talk like me.
