I am not happy about the screen design on the HP Zbook Firefly 14 G11 laptop. Customer laptop. Screen broke while transporting in the customer's laptop bag while he was on a trip. Nice bag, padded well. I had a difficult time finding the screen. Ordered from one vendor, they sent me the wrong screen where the connector is too far up. Ordered from a different vendor. This time the correct screen. Installed the screen... and it cracked again in the same corner. Must have happened while I was installing it. I don't understand why these screens are so fragile! Seem to have a thin glass layer on the top that gets messed up with the slightest bump. screen model: B140qan03.h #hp #repair #laptop #zbook #screen

@matthew I’ve not liked most of the hp business laptops I’ve used. privacy screen is incredibly annoying on the 13” ones.

I have had fairly good experience with older HP ProBook and EliteBook models. I prefer ThinkPad laptops, though.

@matthew as a freelance computer repair technician myself, the most nightmarish thing for me to replace is laptop screens. I'm always afraid of accidentally breaking the screen or the screen arriving broken. On top of that, many newer laptops are intimidating for me to take apart.

Agreed. Some are super simple and not a problem at all. Some are nightmares. Hard to tell the difference before researching heavily or hands on experience. #repair

@matthew I'll take screws I have to keep track of over adhesives I have to tug on and/or dissolve any day. Or worse, heaven forbid it's all held together with plastic clips 💀
