Imagine having the confidence to give a book the following title: “The Sister Arts, or A Concise and Interesting View of the Nature and History of Paper-Making, Printing and Bookbinding: Being designed to unite Entertainment with Information concerning those Arts, with which the Cause of Literature is peculiarly connected.”—and not even flinch once as you lay out the lead for the word “concise” on your printing press. (is this a joke???)

@futurebird I don't want to read things that are uninteresting, so I always look for books with Interesting in the title.

@futurebird Is the content shorter than the title?

@futurebird I love it! It sounds exactly like the kind of book someone wrote about their hyperfixation or special interest. It is that 45-90 minute impromptu lecture some people will give if you get them started in book form.

@mhthaung no, it’s a pretty good book. concise, interesting and all about how they were binding books at the time. But the title… why?

@jhlibby It’s like when mom left me in the computer lab playing with “Print Shop” that one time. I still feel guilty about the banners …

@futurebird @mhthaungSame phenomenon that drives Japanese web serial/light novel titles. When all you have to grab the reader's interest is the title, make it count. This was largely killed in the us by the advent of the back cover solicit text, but in a web directory where you can only see the title, do your best.
