Listening to PWR last week and @samsethi and @james were wondering if the "other" V4V apps still work and they do. CuriocasterCastamatic PodversePodcastGuruLNBeatsAll still alive and well. Those all use Alby so if you have that they still work great. Just wanted to that out. 😁

@ChadF @samsethi Thanks! They all still work with keysend to my Umbrel node? Or lnurl to Strike?

@james @samsethi keysend has always workedlnurl works in every app but Podverse since the apps needed to update to be able to parse the addresses. If you have an Umbrel still and install AlbyHub you can use these apps still. AlbyHub just sets on top of your node if you have it set up with channels like we aleays have. Thats how mine is, the channels are on the node like they always have been and AlbyHub just connects the apps to the node.

@ChadF @samsethiI've not got AlbyHub, and nor do I want it. But, no matter - I see boosts in my Umbrel hub via Helipad from Fountain, Podcast Guru, Curiocast, Castamatic and Truefans in the last few days. My splits from PWR go to my Umbrel node.I also see payment via lnaddress to Strike from Podcast Guru, Fountain, whatever @adam uses to listen (it just says "From adamcurry"), and from something else (that only says "Pay jamescridland"). 50% of my splits to Podnews Daily go to my node; 50% go via lnaddress - to "my lightning address" of jamescridland@strike.me - the theory here was that I don't know who supports what. So, most things support both lnaddress and payments to my node.

@james @samsethi @adam I only mentioned AH since you mentioned Umbrel and was curious your thoughts on it. Thats good data to have and shows we do have more options than I think most people realize. App users still need AH but that's mainly because it just works and the feeds still have keysend in them and Alby does keysend. lnaddress opens up more wallet options for app devs but the metadata for the payment seems to be the issue at hand.

@ChadF @samsethi This was sent via lnaddress to jamescridland@strike.me but has some metadata with it?

@james @samsethi Correct but I think its limited to something like 200 character which is half of what we have now, and you would only see half the message in Strike.I think the idea is to send the metadata somewhere else that you or the app your using controls like we do with Helipad now. Sats to Strike and Boostagram message somewhere else basically. Something like these options or you just check your Strike wallet or whatever you pick.https://podcastindex.social/@ericpp/114802239848803875

@ChadF @james @samsethi The way I was doing it with The Split Box is when you send a payment in, the metadata was sent to my server and stored, a link to the metadata was generated, and the comment sent to the lnurl address was the link to the metadata.

@StevenB @ChadF @james @samsethi That's how fountain appears to handle it as well, with a link

@ChadF @james @samsethi The Split Box was largely based on @alecksgates metaBoost, which I think is the most versatile way to handle metadata.
