Because capitalism conflicts with my values entirely, I am quickly running into roadblocks preventing me from succeeding in life. I do not believe in corporate greed nor in corporate existence in any way, shape, or form, and I am very fearful of corporate overshoot and even the existence of profit, since I feel that profit is just one part of a hidden agenda toward destruction and mass extinction. But in my perception, it is cause for me to commit to #FOSS in my ideal software development.

@novaTopFlex #FOSS doesn’t go far enough. Permissively licensed software lets capitalists use your code for free. Copyleft is better, but capitalists can still use your software in capitalist production. Maybe a different licensing scheme is needed, restricting use in capitalist production, but allowing non-capitalist firms like worker coops to use it. A copyfarleft perhaps.Anticapitalists should eventually start their own worker cooperatives.

Licensing itself is kind of a joke. When we allow companies to keep their source secret, they're going to have an unfair advantage against open source software, regardless of whether we said they agreed not to exploit it. It's not that we have to forbid them from using our software. We have to forbid them from hiding their software, and inflicting that maliciously hidden software on the rest of us.It's quite literally a criminal conspiracy.CC: @novaTopFlex@mastodon.social
