So what about an app where you have an open (crypto obviously) bidding marketplace to purchase various government officials and politicians? It can be confusing to navigate the current landscape! One guy wants his stuff in cash in a sack behind the bleachers, the next one wants a red envelope in a chips bag. Who can keep up?Join me friends. Let's disrupt bribery!

@MatthewToadAgain OK but I've been looking at the size of these bribes and they are CHEAP. Maybe the politicians need a union so they can get more equitable bribes?(I'm doing just fine, why do you ask, I'm having a normal one. )

@futurebird I’m not _not_ interested… funds only released on successful passage of {specific_bill}🤔

@futurebird @MatthewToadAgain I wondered about this before I started interacting with public service employees - and then later became one. Some of us are in proximity to people can, say casually eat at nice restaurants. I don't make enough to do that. Most of us don't. And that's fine! It's part of the job! But I think it means the amount to buy people who can be bought is often smaller than you'd think. It's just enough so a person can put nice things in reach. .

@futurebird I've been saying for years that I wish the purchasing of legislators and regulators in the US was more like totally corrupt places like Mexico, places where the amount you have to pay and to whom are widely known and understood (so I'm told). What we have in the US, with its pretense of being above all that, feels opaque and inaccessible. I've said many times "just tell me who I need to pay and how much to get this done," when it came to some regulatory or legislative issue in California.Like, talking with my state legislators, on more than one occasion they basically asked "how much money do you have for this?" It was all very coded, of course, but that's effectively what they were asking. And I felt like saying "just give me your goddamn rate sheet already so I can start a GoFundMe or something."Anyway, the problem with bidding is that even if we pool our resources, we're still up against some pretty big, well funded conservative sources on most issues. I prefer a standard rate sheet.

@futurebird how about a marketplace, where you can browse politicians available for purchase, or you can let them bid on your policy requirements, see who will do it the cheapest. That way, you can take a cut from both sides by putting results behind an algorithm that conveniently takes the blame for all bias.
