Indians and africans have been living better than they've ever lived in their entire history for the last 60 years and it's only because they exist in countries they could never dream of or are capable of building themselves.

It's not quite as awful as it looks. Cow dung is mostly cellulose, it's basically compost. There's very little rancid fat in there like there would be with omnivore dung.I still wouldn't want to go anywhere near it though.

Interestingly there's some evidence to suggest the jews were *not* monotheists at that time. They may have completed their transition to monotheism as late as 100BC.Iranians, Greeks and Egyptians were further down that road than they were.

Israel very often became either majority polytheistic, and/or ruled by idolators - with only a “Faithful Remnant“ keeping to their Traditional Monotheism. The Prophets refer to this as being the ultimate cause for why Babylonians conquered the Kingdom of Judah in ~597BC. For the same reason, Northern Israel had fallen to the Assyrians nearly a century and a quarter earlier (~722BC). So, not only does “some evidence” suggest it - it’s nigh axiomatic. iirc - Persia was Zoroastrian, which is hard Dualist; Greeks referred to a unified “Divine Nature” as the single unified essence common to all the “gods”, even going so far as to refer to this Nature as “God”. Egyptians were apparently largely in agreement with the Greeks, by then, while retaining their Traditional Pantheon of course; and also of course they’d flirted with strict institutional Monotheism under Akhenaten centuries prior (which was hugely unpopular). So I pretty much agree 100%.

@Eiregoat @KingOfWhiteAmerica @Turkleton I had read that the rulers and generals like Alexander privately believed in one God, but made offerings at pagan temples to keep up appearances and morale amongst their subjects. Which would imply the rank and file citizens were still polytheistic. Or at least really enjoyed a good, old-fashioned Bacchanalia!
