It was the morning after the Nov 2024 election. “Need time to mourn & process this racist, fascist country.”The email rapidly spread on social media & would soon unravel the career of Prof James Bowley, who had sent it to the 3 students enrolled in his “Abortion & Religions” class at Millsaps College.        @Nonilex It is disheartening that leaders of colleges and universities are bowing down to attacks on academic freedom to keep their jobs. Belief in core ethical principles is more important than career aspirations. But, apparently, few administrators agree.
