@futurebird i still don't know exactly what these No Kings protests are supposed to accomplish, but if it's getting people in the street who wouldn't normally join a protest, hopefully they'll join more revolutionary actions, and this is just the practise run. i suppose we'll find out soon enough when the fash start to attack these protests, and who sticks around to fight back.

@futurebird My grandparents died long before shit got so bad, and in a way I'm glad for them... but they were Eisenhower Republicans and had excellent bullshit detectors. I have faith that they would be PISSED if they were here today.

@JDGeoShack We, the people who follow politics closely can easily forget that most people just ignore it. It's cantankerous, confusing and often ugly. And talking about it can make people angry at you. I think that some of this stuff is causing "how bad it is" to break that containment. It's kind of goofy the Jimmy is playing this role but people who never bring up politics on their own are disgusted.Because this is a level of censorship that reaches even the less poltical.

@futurebird I will say this again and again. When I drove through rural midwest this summer, as I do every summer, I saw way less support for Trump, than I have in years past. Nebraska and Iowa rural Americans, who have been avid Trump supporters with their flags and banners have taken them down. This is a big deal! I saw one Trump supporter this year, compared to many many in the past 6 yrs., but I also saw one Fk Ice on a silo, this year too, which is a game changer. Things are a changing.
