Guess who's back on writing her sci-fi book? It's me. This is the book I can't talk about until it's done. I thought I'd get more writing done during the summer without the pressures of teaching ... However. It turns out when I don't have the pressures of teaching I don't want the pressures of writing either. So I got nothing done for a month. But today I revised a chapter, wrote a new one... and most important discovered I still think it will be a VERY good book. If I can complete it.

@futurebird I had a bit of a realization recently...I was having a hard time writing something creative as a project,but that improved after I changed my internal thoughts about who I was writing it to.What worked for me was writing it as a letter to a lover and friend.You, of course, might respond differently though, depending on personality and circumstances.Who can you write your book to?

@futurebird I intended to go through my whole novella length story for a 2nd draft by now, but kept not wanting to -- I guess I need a brake to make it less familiar, and will not berate, but get back to it when I feel enthused
