@waifu I've played a moderate amount. How fun it is depends a lot on how fun the people you're playing with are. A high power or low power table can be very fun, or very unfun, depending on the people. Personally I tend to prefer lower power tables though

@waifu@mai.waifuism.life Assuming you mean the MtG game variant. Then yes it can be quiet a bit of fun as long as the three or so other people you are playing with want to have a good shared experience as well.I have played many many hours of commander & can only think of a couple games where it was not fun & luckily they were over pretty quick due to the one not making it fun ending the game quickly.You still have to learn the very basics of card interactions and how to play basic MtG which the digital version of Magic Arena does a good job of. Then from there I highly recommended you get a preconstructed commander deck which looks the most interesting to you as you will be piloting it for a while so you personally liking it is what's most important.Hopefully this helps. If this is a joke or some how a completely different game then just ignore me :blobcat_flop:

@rain@melonbread.xyz No thank you, yes I meant this exact one. I play SWU but kinda got bored of it plus never really liked star wars, so I'm looking for something else to play, I may try and ask other irl friends where they play so i can have at least someone to guide me a bit more directly

@merchantHelios @waifu I play Commander every weekend. As far as MTG goes its such a paradox. It is the worst way to get started playing MTG while also being the most marketed towards newer players.If you’re gonna get into it, I’d highly recommend low power like they are saying (everyone using unmodified precons) or playing a different format on something like MTG Arena first so you can get familiar with game rules and “The Stack”

@Unit @waifu imo mtg isn't hard to learn, even via commander, but the expense to make your own decks beyond precons is a hard sell. My favorite budget deck is still just under 100 bucks

@merchantHelios @waifu Price is definitely an issue but anywhere you go to play commander people are usually cool with proxies as long as they are legible.

@waifu@mai.waifuism.life Oh yeah if you have someone to on board you initially then you should have no real issue. One of the good things about MtG is even though it is fantasy themed there is all kinds of vibes you can attach to.I wish you luck and if you like it share what you play and such it is always fun seeing what others come up with.
