It's one of the difficult moderation issues: you want to keep your users safe from scammers, but you don't want to make a mistake and block an actual person.Of course Palestinians are welcome on mastodon.world. @aral @joynewacc This is great, specifically: moderation already exists and is working (er improving) now we can restore customer service to the users. You might see this as a pilot project or a best attempt, I see it as a model for the future.

With money being funneled AWAY from those who need it. It’s a self-defeating prophecy situation and yes, an institution to vet, into an allowlist, helps to break the cycle.

@aral @joynewacc as a regular user, would it be better to connect you first/instead of reporting to admins when being directly connected by such accounts?I am fairly certain that they were bots just due to their behaviour outside of the messages they sent to me, but obviously didn't put all that much effort into verifying that before reporting
