       From the seat of a bicycle, the only good thing about traffic lights is that most drivers stop when they're red.  The obvious way to save a lot of money and lives is to just have them be red and stay that way.

       @enobacon Sludge music is basically the crossover between lounge music, hardcore punk, and doom metal. You get compelling hard rock riffs on the chorus, verses that stretch out a couple chords into a hook and little else, then a doom metal pace and atmosphere mixed with some fratboy rock like Sublime or Pantera.

       @amerika pay for the wear and upkeep, insurance coverage for hit-and-run damage to the infrastructure, injuries, deaths, quit leaving CO2 and tire particles everywhere you go.  Public space is for everyone, if you want to be alone it's not the place for you.

       @Zergling_man yeah you definitely can't count on a red light to save your life, but you can see when drivers are stopped and guess that they'll stay there until the green (plus probably a few seconds to mess with their phone.)  I'm usually trying to get somewhere without excess sweat, which, besides e-assist, is best achieved by not stopping unless there's a breeze and shady spot.
