       about to finish yofukashi no uta s2.i think its a nosedive in quality compared to s1.its more serious and you get a lot of focus on developing the characters but it comes at the cost of the comfy wholesome mood s1 had where it was a lot more like senko-san.the problem is the writer cant write a serious story."how does detective lady fight vampir? she just mov really smart cuz vampire ar dum XD"and of course she has this super convenient story everyone conveniently forgot about.in the first ep of s2 nothing really happens besides nazuna telling protag "our relationship is just a degenerate physical one and thats a good thing".next ep protags best friend gets beat up by a classmate whos black enough to be a nog.next ep nazuna telling protag how much she's into NTR.next ep lesbians.next ep nazuna telling protag "lots of past relationships are preferable cuz they build character".next ep other different lesbians.so many DEI checkboxes you'd think you were watching a netflix cartoon.its not like s1 wasnt inherently a little bit degen, but its a huge shift, its no longer the wholesome kind of degen where a 40 year old hag grooms a middle schooler who's skipping school.on account of this i found myself rooting more for the vampire slayer hag than anyone else.yeah go detective hag! kill those dirty forei- erm, vampires!but of course they have to end up making her lame and gay too.its just an entire season dedicated to defanging the only character with any bite.

       @smugumin Yeah unfortunately that story was born to be a fotm anime at best. The manga suffers the same problem, maybe even worse. It's very common for manga to have an interesting premise that runs pretty well for the first 10-20 chapters then to immediately eat shit once they run through their original premise.. I wish mangakas were forced at gunpoint to write a rough draft of their finished story before being allowed to be published.
