       Mercedes totaled by insurance so I drove it home from the collision repair place and I’ll fix it myself for about $500. It was backed into a guardrail, missed metal bumper, crushed the triangular stamped steel horizontal trunk latch frame in over 2”. This pull stick bar and some innovative steel iron backing plate pulled it out. It’s not easy aligning a trunk lid.  Hinges were bent. This was a lot of work but I’m almost there…car drives absolutely fine no frame damage. Insurance is a scam.

       @SirAndrewTheGreat @cryptoduke I have no body work collision repair skills. This is my first time. It takes forever to get metal moved back to position. I’m not looking for a show car. If the trunk closes and doesn’t leak but the gaps aren’t perfect I’m good. I hate doing this. Buying the $80 pull stick was the right thing, you cannot hammer back this car steel. A tree and a come along winch would work too. I hate working on cars.

       @Haleakalacrater @SirAndrewTheGreat @cryptoduke Have checked/searched the "crumple zones" on that model? That's why insurance companies total Benz's. They act as metallic air bags to disperse the energy of impacts.
