       @drgeraint Yup.  It took me an hour to replace a broken gear cable – at home with a load of tools at my disposal – as I couldn't get it to feed through the frame.What this nonsense means, is while it's easy to carry a £3 spare gear cable, it's not much use because it's not possible to replace it on the side of the road anymore.

       @drgeraint I feel seen. My partner's bike does what he mentions - it routes the brake hose through the headset bearing. A fresh bearing often means a new set of bar tape and always a brake bleed. Ridiculously poor design.
