Okay, so U.S. buys chicken eggs in Russia for human consumption. I suppose it's pretty funny in the context of NATO and saber rattling. But I have a question: how does U.S. pay for those eggs? Russian banks are sanctioned, with narrow exceptions for those that accept payments for Uranium, Titanium, and rare earths.Back in the day, in the run-up for the 2024 elections, Biden added an exception for Russian banks that handled payments for Russian oil. He intended for an injection of Russian oil to drive the transportation fuel costs down, and improve his election chances. But that exception expired on November 1, 2024.Did we add an additional exception for egg payments? Or is there a sleeper channel to pay Russians if need arises? Or did Trump deliver cash like Obama did to Iran?
