@burnoutqueen Your categorical rejection does sweet FA in making anything better though, and millions of people decided to take that approach and therefore allowed the people who are actually rather in favor of genocide to win. If you refuse to pull on the rope and condemn the sport of tug-o-war instead, the sport doesn't vanish, but the people pulling in the other direction win.

@mloxton I think that it would not have made any real difference in the long run if Kamala won, because the Democrats have a long history of letting the far right win major victories under their presidencies. They don't fuckin do anything to stop the Republicans, at best they do delay tactics.What Kamala would have done is maintain American brutality with a progressive face, like Obama did, and let fascist extremism fester in the Republican states until it leads to a figure like Trump (or worse).

@mloxton I am a trans person in a Republican state.Legal recognition is impossible for me to obtain.It is illegal for me to use the bathroom I would prefer to use.It is legally allowed for healthcare to be withheld from me.My state has actually erased protections for trans people from the law entirely.None of this was new. A lot of this was a thing in 2024 and 2023 as well.

@mloxton it is basically all but illegal to be trans where I live. Once they have a greenlight from the trump appointed supreme court to implement a public ban on "drag" (using quotes here because it's not about that), and also ban medical transition entirely, then I am truly toast.And the Supreme Court was rigged by Trump 1.0 in 2018.
