they tried to implement ads in Linux* but it kept breaking the audio if the version of pipewire-pulse where bluetooth worked on Gnome conflicted with the version of pulseaudio-pipe that worked on KDE, so it was abandoned. one lone ads enthusiast is to this day trying to rewrite libadvertisingd in Rust.*misinformation

@elilla The issue is that people think it's "just Linux" and "was written for fun by Linus" and add lots of proprietary software to it without even realizing that it's the GNU OS, written to grant the users freedom and any proprietary program added to is goes against its very goal.
